What is Bleaching?

"A chemical used to make materials whiter or brighter"

Bleach Stabilization

One solution for both compounds: Tempoxy LO Tempoxy-LO is an effective, fast-dissolving stabilizer for chlorinated bleaches and hydrogen peroxide formulations.

Tempoxy-LO Enhances the Stability of:

• Detergent formulations containing high levels of NaClO and surfactants (up to 5% as AvCl2), • Hydrogen peroxide formulations, • Concentrated formulations containing oxidizers and thickeners. Liquid detergents containing oxidizers such as chlorinated bleach or hydrogen peroxide tend to exhibit general instability in terms of AvCl2 (available chlorine content) or AvOx (available oxygen content). This stems particularly from strong oxidizer reactivity at moderate to elevated storage temperatures (40°C / 50°C). Their instability is related to the quality and quantity of chemicals they contain (surfactants, thickeners, etc.) and the final pH. Chlorinated bleach (NaClO) decomposes rapidly at pH below 11. However, at pH above 11, complete stabilization is not possible either. As a general rule, the higher the AvCl2, the faster the decomposition. Hydrogen peroxide shows better stability (in terms of AvOx) at slightly acidic pH; it is thermodynamically unstable but kinetically inert. Tempoxy-LO maximizes the stability of formulations containing surfactants and high levels of bleach (4-5% as AvCl2); this performance is evident at critical storage temperatures (up to 50°C). Tempoxy-LO is versatile in application; in fact, it can be applied alone or together with principal co-bleach stabilizers. Tempoxy-LO improves the stabilization of formulas containing hydrogen peroxide. Their performance is directly related to overall oxidizer quality. It maximizes stability when combined with principal co-stabilizers. Conclusion: In formulations using Tempoxy LO, the activity of AvCl2 remained stable, while in formulations not using Tempoxy LO, the active ratio of AvCl2 dropped to zero after 500 hours. Tempoxy LO demonstrated effectiveness in both surfactant and non-surfactant systems. Conclusion: In formulations using Tempoxy LO, viscosity decreases at 40-degree stability were not noticeably apparent, while in formulations not using Tempoxy LO, significant viscosity loss occurred after 2000 hours. Tempoxy LO demonstrated effectiveness in both surfactant and non-surfactant systems. Conclusion: In formulations using Tempoxy LO, the activity of H2O2 remained stable, while in formulations not using Tempoxy LO, the active ratio of H2O2 dropped to zero after 12 weeks. In formulations using Tempoxy LO, viscosity decreases at 40-degree stability were not noticeably apparent, while in formulations not using Tempoxy LO, significant viscosity loss occurred after 12 weeks. Tempoxy LO demonstrated effectiveness in both surfactant and non-surfactant systems. Results: Tempoxy LO provides active ingredient stabilization and viscosity stabilization when used with bleaches, surfactants, or thickeners. Best results are obtained at elevated storage temperatures (40-50°C). Esra Özsoy Sales Manager Cosmer Kimya
