Gold and Its Uses

Gold is generally found in nature in an uncombined state, which makes it easy to obtain without any processing, placing it among the first metals ever mined. Objects of exceptional quality have long been crafted from this easily workable, corrosion-resistant, elegant metal, particularly jewelry. Of course, gold is used not only in jewelry and similar fields, but is also frequently and successfully applied in electrical-electronics, dentistry, aircraft-aerospace industry, art, medicine and chemistry. In this issue of our publication, we have examined this "noble" metal—gold. In our interview section, we conducted an engaging conversation with Bahadır Kılıç, Robotics Division Manager at Stäubli.
