City of Stars comes to Istanbul! La La Land, the Damien Chazelle film that won 6 Oscars and defined 2016, will be presented as La La Land in Concert at Zorlu PSM Main Theater on 6-7 October under the main sponsorship of Mercedes-Benz, featuring live performances of the Oscar-winning music by Justin Hurwitz and screenings on a giant screen! US director Damien Chazelle, who made his breakthrough with the 2014 film Whiplash, cemented his reputation with La La Land, which was one of the most significant events in cinema in 2016. Described as a contemporary reflection of classic musicals of the past, La La Land also generated considerable discussion for its music by Justin Hurwitz. The film, in which the chemistry between Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone reached its peak, quickly became one of cinema's classics, with memorable songs including City of Stars and Audition. At the 89th Academy Awards, where it received 14 nominations, La La Land won Best Director, Best Actress, Best Production Design and Best Cinematography, as well as Best Original Score and Best Original Song (City of Stars). Justin Hurwitz played a major role in the film's success. The 31-year-old composer, who also worked with Chazelle on Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench and Whiplash, transformed a friendship that began during his Harvard University years into a major creative partnership. Justin Hurwitz's La La Land music, which earned Best Original Score and Best Original Song at the 74th Golden Globe Awards, Best Original Score at the 70th BAFTA Awards, and Best Original Score and Best Original Song at the 89th Academy Awards, will be performed live in La La Land in Concert, with the film screened simultaneously on a giant screen, on 6-7 October at Zorlu PSM Main Theater!
