Uzak Yakın Sergileri Vol.I Opens to Art Lovers in İzmir

Uzak Yakın Exhibitions Vol.I İzmir brings art enthusiasts together in İzmir with a selection of works from nearly 100 artists. Uzak Yakın Vol.I İzmir, which launched as a project of contemporary art digital platform Kolekta within the scope of the Efes Culture Route Festival, is hosting visitors between 28 October–28 November 2023 across 2 venues: İzmir Painting and Sculpture Museum Kültürpark Art Gallery and İzmir Painting and Sculpture Museum Art and History Gallery. Kolekta, which aims to make current art production in Turkey accessible and reach wide audiences while maintaining a mission to archive contemporary art digitally, is meeting art enthusiasts with its new exhibition series 'Uzak Yakın'. The 'Uzak Yakın Exhibitions', which launched in İzmir under the Efes Culture Route organized by the T.C. Ministry of Culture, is added as a new art platform extending beyond İstanbul to strengthen accessibility and interaction among artists working in the contemporary art field. The exhibition series, which will be distributed across different cities and various venues, aims to foster accessibility in art while developing collaboration and dialogue among artists working in different cities. Proceeding from the understanding that the exhibition series, by creating equal distance to different forms of artistic expression and varieties of transmission, can build common spaces at the same coordinates, aims to increase artistic awareness and strengthen bonds between artist, art production and viewer. "Uzak/Yakın" is concerned with creating common and new horizons where life and art touch each other, while remaining aware that in art, as in life, there is not just a single direction. In Uzak Yakın Vol.I İzmir, works by 96 artists working in different disciplines are featured, ranging from painting to photography, sculpture to digital.
