This Week at Borusan Sanat

Borusan Sanat offers music lovers a full programme this week. On 9 November, Borusan Music House opens its season with ensemble XXI. jahrhundert, one of contemporary music's important supporters and performers. On 16 November, BİFO under Carlo Tenan's direction presents a selection of Italian operas, while The Necks, as part of the 36th Nova Muzak series realised in collaboration with Kod Müzik, will be at Borusan Music House on 25 November.

Borusan Music House opens season

Borusan Music House opens its new season with one of contemporary music's important supporters and performers. ensemble XXI. jahrhundert (EXXI), a collective of soloists representing the high technical standard and sound quality characteristic of Viennese musical culture—what Ernst Krenek described as "as great a pleasure to listen to together as individually"—is Borusan Music House's first guest of the new season. EXXI will perform the Turkish premieres of works commissioned from Onur Türkmen and Petra Stump-Linshalm on Thursday, 9 November at 21:00 at Borusan Music House.

A selection of Italian operas

Opera overtures and arias featuring the magnificent harmony of soprano and orchestra come together on Thursday, 16 November at 20:00 at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage. BİFO will present a programme consisting of works by Mozart, Verdi, Rossini and Respighi. Fatma Said, who at just 14 years old left her native Cairo for Milan and the La Scala Theatre academy, and who was selected by BBC Radio 3 as one of the new generation of artists, will meet BİFO audiences under Carlo Tenan's direction as the soloist of the evening. Before the concert, Aydın Büke and Serhan Bali will hold a pleasant discussion about the concert in the Meydan Foyer area at Zorlu PSM from 19:00 to 19:30.

Nova Muzak series returns to Borusan Music House

The Nova Muzak series, realised in collaboration with Kod Müzik, returns to Borusan Music House on Saturday, 25 November at 21:00. The 36th edition of the Nova Muzak series features The Necks, one of Australia's most cult groups. The music of the group, comprising Chris Abrahams, Tony Buck and Lloyd Swanton, features long, enchanting improvisations that unfold slowly.
