Turkish Rhythmic Gymnastics Group National Team Achieves a First in Turkey's History

Turkish gymnastics, which has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, has added another historic achievement. Following medals in artistic gymnastics, our athletes have now become a source of pride in rhythmic gymnastics. At the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship ongoing in Ukraine, our Group National Team won gold, marking several firsts for our country.

"Three hoops, two ribbons"

Our national team, comprising Duygu Doğan, Azra Akıncı, Peri Berker, Nil Karabina, and Eda Asar, secured the European Championship title in the "three hoops, two ribbons" apparatus with a score of 31.150 points, leaving behind competitors such as Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Israel. With this championship, Turkey won its first gold medal at this level in rhythmic gymnastics. Turkey finished ahead of Ukraine, which achieved the same score in the finals, based on execution points, while bronze medalist Azerbaijan scored 30.650 points.
