Merck, one of the world's most established pharmaceutical and chemical companies, presented its "Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Awards," in which all countries where it operates worldwide took part. At the award ceremony, Merck Türkiye crowned its efforts in this field by winning first place in the "Gender Equality" category among 150 countries.

Merck, one of the world's most established pharmaceutical and chemical companies, awarded "Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Awards" with participation from all countries in which it operates globally. At the awards ceremony, Merck Turkey won first place in the "Gender Equality" category among 150 countries, recognizing its work in this field with the award.
Merck Turkey achieved a major success by placing first in the "Gender Equality" category at the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Awards, which Merck presents among the 150 countries where it operates globally. A total of 300 projects from various countries were evaluated for the awards.
Merck Turkey was deemed worthy of this prestigious award through projects grouped under the EmpowerHer initiative, which centers on the theme of gender equality. The projects in question include robust human resources processes that prioritize gender equality in the workplace, a high proportion of female leaders in the management team, and equal access for all employees in Turkey who request Fertility Treatment Assistance, which is provided globally at Merck.
Within the framework of the EmpowerHer initiative, Merck Turkey organized training to increase women's participation in the workforce and support their careers, while taking an active role in the "Female Leaders Guiding Health" initiative to support the development of female leaders. Through the "Merck Turkey 25th Anniversary Scholarship Fund," the company provided scholarship opportunities until graduation for 25 female medical students affected by the devastating earthquake in 2023. To raise awareness on women's health, it supported "Women's Health, Bright Futures," a podcast series that was a first in Turkey.
