Alumni Writers Gathered in Memory of Yapıncak Gürerk

The Authors' Book Signing Day, organized by the TED Ankara Koleji Alumni Association, was dedicated this year to Yapıncak Gürek, a short-story writer, musician and painter whom we recently lost.
At the event held on Saturday, 2 November, twenty-five authors—graduates and teachers of TED Ankara Koleji—met with readers, signed their books and honored Gürek's memory.
Association Board Chairman Necdet Akdaş recalled Yapıncak Gürek, thanked the participating authors and noted that this meaningful event would continue in the years to come. Gürek's multifaceted art and the deep impression he left among Kolejli writers gave rise to emotional moments.
Throughout his artistic career, Yapıncak Gürek created numerous works in music, painting and literature. After TED Ankara Koleji, he studied piano at Bilkent University, music at Manhattan School of Music and painting at Hacettepe University. Gürek earned his doctorate in 2005 and left his mark in the literary world through his short stories. Reaching readers with his debut book "Misty Grey Bright Yellow," Gürek contributed to society through his art and teaching.
At the event, Ahmet Funda Tezok, Anıl Ergin, Aslıhan Duman, Bakış Kutlu, Deniz Şen, Feyza Doyran and numerous other authors who attended in Gürek's memory added meaning to the event by recalling both his art and the spirit of Kolejli solidarity.
