What's On at Borusan Sanat This Week Borusan Sanat continues its concert series in May. On Thursday, 25 May, BİFO will commemorate Leyla Gencer on the 15th anniversary of her death with a memorable concert on the Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage. Concert recordings presented via the online video platform borusansanat.tv continue to reach audiences with music. An unforgettable evening in memory of Leyla Gencer with BİFO Borusan Sanat will hold a concert in memory of Leyla Gencer, as it does every year. Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra (BİFO) will commemorate Leyla Gencer on the 15th anniversary of her death with a concert at 20:00 on Thursday, 25 May at the Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage. BİFO and esteemed guest soloists will come together in memory of Leyla Gencer to create a magnificent evening. Stabat Mater, one of the two major sacred works by Giochiano Rossini, one of the most important composers who created Italian Romantic opera style alongside G. Bellini and G. Verdi in the 19th century, will be presented at this special concert. Audiences will have the opportunity to hear Korean coloratura soprano Jay Yang, mezzo-soprano Ezgi Karakaya who won first prize at the 2018 Leyla Gencer Singing Competition and was also awarded the BİFO Special Prize and the Leyla Gencer People's Prize, accomplished English tenor Theodore Browne and bass-baritone Burak Bilgili who has successfully performed important roles on world stages. The concert will feature the Slovakia Philharmonic Choir under the direction of Jozef Chabroň as guests, with Carlo Tenan conducting BİFO.
