'Ara Güler Archive Series Istanbul's Ferries'
A book titled 'Istanbul's Ferries Archive Series' featuring previously unpublished photographs by Master Photographer Ara Güler has been released.
In a project realized through a collaboration between Şehir Hatları and Ara Güler Museum, Şehir Hatları ferries, Istanbul and the sea are depicted through photographs captured by Ara Güler's lens.
In collaboration with Ara Güler Museum, the Istanbul's Ferries Archive Series book containing Ara Güler's previously unpublished photographs and featuring an introduction by İlber Ortaylı, along with a set of 10 postcards, has been released.
In the project realized through a collaboration between Şehir Hatları and Ara Güler Museum, Şehir Hatları ferries, Istanbul and the sea are depicted through photographs captured by Ara Güler's lens. The newly published Ara Güler Archive Series – Istanbul's Ferries book and a postcard series consisting of 10 different photographs primarily feature Şehir Hatları ferries from the 1950s and 1960s, people and children waiting at piers and waterside, and views of the Golden Horn.
The Istanbul's Ferries Archive Series book, for which İlber Ortaylı wrote the introduction with the words '…No remnant, no work can teach us our generation's Istanbul as well as Ara Güler,' along with the set of 10 postcards, can be purchased at the Ferry Cafes located at Şehir Hatları Ferries, Moda, Çubuklu and Kuzguncuk Piers.
