Alex Skolnick from Testament; with Matt Zebrovski on drums and Nathan Peck on bass, the Alex Skolnick Trio reinterprets hard rock and heavy metal classics in a jazz format, performing at Zorlu PSM on 14 March! The American jazz trio "The Alex Skolnick Trio," featuring legendary guitarist Alex Skolnick from Testament, comprises drummer Matt Zebrovski and bassist Nathan Peck. The accomplished trio is known for their original jazz performances that reinterpret hard rock and heavy metal classics. While we know Alex Skolnick as a dedicated metalhead, he has been a permanent member of Testament since joining at age 16 and is also known for his improvisational performances in New York reflecting multiple musical styles. Standing out among guitarists for his original melodies—alongside names such as Marty Friedman—Alex Skolnick completed his studies in the jazz program at The New School in New York with prestigious musicians including George Garzone, Cecil McBee and Reggie Workman. Skolnick is highly experienced in demonstrating his extensive knowledge of guitar and music not only as a musician but also as an instructor. American guitarist Joe Satriani selected Alex, his former student, as a guest instructor for the G4 Experience in 2016, an annual event featuring names such as Eric Johnson, Mike Keneally and Steve Vai. Beyond this, Alex frequently appears as an instructor and speaker at academic conferences such as the doctoral program "The International Society – Metal Research" in Helsinki and the "University of Dayton Metal and Cultural Impact Conference."
