8th Kısa'dan Hisse Short Film Festival Set for 12-19 November The "8th Kısa'dan Hisse Short Film Festival," organized by Genç Öncüler Youth, Sports and Education Association, will take place on 12-19 November. The press conference for the festival, which will be held with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, was held at the Yeşilçam Cinema of Atatürk Kültür Merkezi (AKM). Festival President Aşkın Özcan, speaking about the event continuing its journey with the slogan "Başka Bi' Festival," said, "This year as well, we will try to be a festival that is out of the ordinary and where only art is discussed through various events." Artistic Director Abdulhamit Güler noted that they will focus on artificial intelligence in this year's organization, saying, "With the contribution of all participants, we will produce something through artificial intelligence." Güler pointed out that special screenings will be held for people with disabilities, stating that some of the award-winning films will be adapted in a way that is understandable to people with hearing and visual impairments. Merve Sena Kılıç, who serves on the advisory board, emphasized that she has participated in many short film festivals to date, describing it as "A festival that is grounded, knows what it wants to do, is bound by tradition and open to innovation."

Festival submissions open until 20 September

Submissions for the short film competition will be accepted from today until 20 September. Directors will submit their applications through the international festival platform "filmfreeway.com". In addition to the short film competition, the event will feature numerous events, discussions, masterclasses, one-on-one meetings, workshops and film screenings. At the awards ceremony to be held on 19 November, the winners of best fiction, best documentary and best animation film will each receive TRY 15,000 in prize money. The winner of best experimental film and the project winning the "Genç Öncüler Special Award" in memory of Ayşe Şasa will receive TRY 7,500 in prize money. The first-place production in the high school category will receive TRY 7,500 in prize money as well as cinema education provided by İstanbul Sinema Evi (İSE). Cinema education will also be provided by İSE to the winners of second and third place. In the Production Support Awards, one of the best screenplays will receive TRY 30,000 in cash support from İSE, and the second best screenplay will receive a post-production service award from Unity Production. This year's advisory board includes producer Halil Kardaş, academic Assoc. Prof. Mesut Aytekin, documentary director and producer Merve Sena Kılıç, publisher and author Cevat Özkaya, and editor and author Asım Öz. The preliminary jury will include Emre Sefer, Ömer Güler, Merve Özen, Meryem Sena Metin and Yusuf Emirdar.   Source
