Cereals, pulses and oilseeds sector leaves its mark on exports

Of the 158 food companies on the TİM 1000 Exporters List, 84 are from the cereals, pulses and oilseeds sector. The cereals, pulses and oilseeds sector and its products, which alone account for 47 percent of Turkey's food exports and earned Turkey USD 12.4 billion in foreign exchange in 2023, is strongly represented on the TİM Top 1000 Exporters List with 84 companies. While a total of 158 food companies enter the TİM 1000 Exporters List, the cereals, pulses and oilseeds sector, which accounts for 84 of these companies, has achieved 53 percent representation among food companies. The Aegean Region Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters Association, which has more than tripled its exports over the last 10 years from USD 335 million to USD 1.065 billion, took its place on the TİM Top 1000 Exporters List in 2023 with 4 member companies.

Abalıoğlu Yağ ranks 12th in the oil sector

Abalıoğlu Yağ Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi entered the list at position 200, becoming the 12th company with the highest exports in the cereals, pulses and oilseeds sector.

Yonca Gıda advanced 9 positions

Yonca Gıda Sanayi İşletmeleri İç ve Dış Ticaret Anonim Şirketi, a regular on the TİM Top 1000 List, became the 14th company with the highest exports in the cereals, pulses and oilseeds sector, while advancing 9 positions on the overall list to position 163 through the momentum of its exports in other sectors.

Ferrero Turkey Chocolate rose 445 positions at once

The third company among Aegean Region Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters Association members on the TİM Top 1000 Exporters List is Ferrero Türkiye Çikolata ve Tarım Ürünleri San. ve Dış Tic. A.Ş. Ferrero Türkiye Çikolata ve Tarım Ürünleri San. ve Dış Tic. A.Ş. stood out among the fastest-rising companies on the TİM Top 1000 Exporters List. The company jumped 445 positions, rising from position 813 to position 368.

Pet food sector sends representative to TİM Top 1000 List

The Aegean Region, which has become a production hub for cat and dog food, crowned this achievement by sending a company from this sector to the TİM Top 1000 Exporters List. Lider Petfood Yem Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi, one of the leading manufacturers in the pet food sector, made its debut on the TİM Top 1000 Exporters List at position 731.

Muhammet Öztürk, Chairman of the Board of the Aegean Region Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters Association, stated that the cereals, pulses and oilseeds and products sector is the clear leader in Turkey's food exports with its wide product range, and that the sector has demonstrated its weight on the list of export champions. Öztürk continued his remarks as follows: "Our cereals, pulses and oilseeds sector is among the export champions with 84 companies. Fifty-three percent of food companies on the TİM Top 1000 list are from our cereals, pulses and oilseeds sector. In 2024, we have united all our sector's strength under the Turkey Food Exporters brand to further increase our exports, reaching USD 14 billion and taking place on the TİM Top 1000 Exporters List with 100 companies. We are participating in trade fairs with large stands and promoting Turkish food products. To reach our export targets, we are clustering with TURQUALITY and UR-GE Projects to enhance our competencies."
