Henkel Expands Consumer Adhesives Portfolio
Henkel, the world's first stick adhesive manufacturer, is expanding its consumer adhesives portfolio globally, starting with Prittstick adhesives, by introducing new plastic-free blister packaging.
The new plastic-free blister packaging is produced from a minimum of 85% recycled paper and stands out for being fully recyclable. Through this solution, the company will contribute to reducing 1,000 tons of plastic annually.
The new packaging concept aims to support the company's sustainability targets and 2025 packaging objectives by contributing to the reintroduction of recycled products into the circular economy.
The Pritt brand is recognized for offering sustainable solutions, natural adhesive strength, and valuing social responsibility worldwide.
Henkel has long taken account of the benefits to children in particular and increased user safety sensitivity and sustainability demands from society, continuously improving the quality and formulation of its products within this framework.
The strong company is elevating its core brand identity to an even higher level by setting sustainability standards in packaging for consumer adhesives.
Pritt International Brand Manager Berna Aksu commented on the matter:
"Pritt has been recognized for more than 50 years as a pioneer of sustainable innovation. Starting today, we are removing plastic from our packaging and introducing new blister packaging that is at least 85% recycled and 100% recyclable. Our new packaging concept consisting of plastic-free blister packaging will move sustainable solutions further forward and change much in the market. After years of work and numerous regulations in our supply chain, we are proud to take a step further and present our first next-generation sustainable innovation to our consumers. Moreover, Pritt will only be a beginning. Over the next few years, we aim to gradually apply our new packaging concept to our entire consumer adhesives portfolio. With this concept, we aim to reduce our plastic footprint by 1,000 tons annually." Since its invention in 1969, Prittstick adhesives have helped countless children worldwide express their creativity and develop fine motor skills through crafts. Prittstick adhesives maintain their high performance while consisting of 97% natural content (including water) and the lipstick-shaped packaging is made of up to 65% recycled plastic.Advertisement
