Dymax Launches MD® 1045-M Adhesive

Dymax Launches MD® 1045-M Multipurpose Adhesive Dymax, a leading manufacturer of rapid-cure materials and equipment, has announced the launch of 1045-M, the newest product in the MD® light-cure material series for use in medical device assembly. The product is designed to bond glass, SS, ABS and PC substrates used in combining prefilled syringes, disposable devices and automatic, pen and wearable injectors. MD® 1045-M adhesive has been formulated to address issues related to needle orientation, material overflow and the long cure times associated with other technologies. With low extractable material, it has passed ISO 10993 cytotoxicity testing and meets fundamental biocompatibility standards for medical device applications. The product aims to help manufacturers increase productivity, reduce process times and exceed critical tensile strength and quality requirements. Dymax MD® 1045-M, an environmentally friendly alternative to solvent-based adhesives, is single-component, solvent-free and 100% solids. Its low viscosity of 475 centipoise flows easily onto components in 10 seconds compared to the current 30+ second standard. The material also cures with UV/Broad Spectrum light without sticking, and can be LED cured at 365 nm in 5 seconds for faster, more environmentally friendly processing. This low-shrinkage adhesive has a glass-like cured surface, resists yellowing and is resistant to autoclave cleaning and gamma and ETO sterilization methods. Source
