Omyabond® 525 Low-Moisture Filler

Low-Moisture Filler for Reactive Adhesives and Sealants, Omyabond® 525   Omyabond 525 is a coated, white and fine Calcium Carbonate filler developed with low moisture uptake and excellent dispersion properties. Polyurethane, silicone, silanized modified polymers, silan-terminated polyurethanes and MS polymers can be used to formulate moisture-cured reactive adhesives and sealant products. These are highly reactive and typically exhibit high-level rheological and mechanical profiles. The most critical issue in these systems is proper control of moisture content during production and storage to enable curing to begin after application. A mineral filler such as Calcium Carbonate is a main component of this type of moisture-cured reactive formulation, with typical filler levels reaching 55 - 60%. In practical terms, although the moisture content of a filler appears low as a percentage in the technical data sheet, the filler can still introduce significant quantities of water into the system, and this water may subsequently need to be reduced according to actual requirements. Omya's low-moisture Calcium Carbonate product Omyabond® 525 is specifically designed for low moisture and low moisture uptake properties and can be safely used in this type of reactive system.
