Avery Dennison Receives TÜV Certification Avery Dennison Hot Melt Adhesives Now TÜV Certified Avery Dennison Labels and Packaging Materials Europe announced that the majority of its rubber-based hotmelt adhesives have received bio-based content compliance certification from the renowned European certification body TÜV Austria. The certificate confirms that these adhesives contain at least 20% renewable raw materials and reflects the company's commitment to continuing the use of renewable content in its products. Due to increasing environmental awareness among consumers, demand for products based on renewable raw materials is growing. Recently, this demand has frequently been voiced especially for rubber hotmelt adhesives used in applications such as shipping and logistics. TÜV Austria offers the "OK biobased" certification as a guarantee of the percentage of renewable content in products. Products can be certified as bio-based with one, two, three or four stars depending on their composition. Maarten Zubli, Marketing Manager for Paper and Variable Information Products at Avery Dennison, stated: "Obtaining this certification reflects our ongoing efforts to become a more sustainable supplier. More importantly, this certification will help us support brand owners on their journey toward greater sustainability by raising awareness of opportunities to use bio-based adhesives in their packaging." Alena Maran, Director of Marketing Strategy and Sustainability at Avery Dennison, added: "Increasing our use of recycled and renewable content is an important pillar of our sustainability strategy. This certification demonstrates our commitment to developing even more sustainable solutions and advancing the circular economy." The new certification applies to 98% of Avery Dennison's rubber-based hotmelt adhesive volume. Most adhesives such as S2045N, S2047N and TS8000 qualified for 2-star certification (guaranteeing a minimum of 40% renewable content), while S2065N and C2075N adhesives earned 1-star certification (minimum 20% renewable content).
