DTS Design Center Expands into International Markets

DTS Design Centre Opening to International Markets A cooperation protocol was signed to enable designs prepared at Uşak University's Leather, Textile and Ceramic (DTS) Design, Application and Research Centre to be placed in international markets. A cooperation protocol covering design, training, scientific and technical improvement activities was signed between a company supplying collections to international brands in the international ready-to-wear sector and Uşak University's DTS Design, Application and Research Centre. Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş and the company's Head of R&D and Sustainability Kamil Bilir signed the protocol at the Rectorate office. Rector Savaş stated that they would be cooperating with the company, which has a design office in Spain and supplies collections to many international brands in the ready-to-wear sector at every stage of the product and service cycle from design to production. The Rector noted that with the signed protocol, the first step of joint work to be conducted in the coming period has been taken. Prof. Dr. Savaş emphasized that the Uşak University DTS Design Centre would gain recognition internationally with its designs and wished the protocol well. Following the signing ceremony, Rector Savaş held discussions with Head of R&D and Sustainability Kamil Bilir, Textile Engineer responsible for Production Fatih Kumru and DTS Design Centre Director Assoc. Prof. Eren Öner on sector conditions, regional specialization activities, value-added pursuits in Uşak textile industry and possible joint work. Officials from the textile company who visited the DTS Centre and met with design centre personnel received information about the work being conducted. In the meeting held, it was evaluated that the DTS Design Centre could provide support to the textile company in three-dimensional design, surface design, collection preparation, development of functional designs, recycling and sustainability, and studies that could be conducted in this regard were discussed.
