DeFacto Joins Sustainable Cotton Program

DeFacto has become a member of Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), the world's largest cotton sustainability programme. The company, which stands out for its sustainable collections and consistent reduction of resource consumption in production, has announced its commitment to source 50 percent of its cotton consumption from sustainable sources within 5 years. DeFacto, a leading representative of sustainable fashion, has joined Better Cotton, an international organisation focused on work aimed at using fewer resources in cotton production and increasing product quantity and value.

"Better Cotton" to be sourced in first year

The company, which currently increases production activities that respect the ecosystem and adds value to the world's future through sustainable collections, will continue to assume responsibility for efficient use of water, care for soil and natural habitats, minimisation of the effects of harmful plant protection practices, preservation of fibre quality and implementation of decent work principles. According to the statement, the company aims to source 10 percent of total cotton consumption as Better Cotton in the first year of its Better Cotton membership and 50 percent within 5 years. Through this collaboration, which is also seen as an important step in improving working and living conditions for farmers and their families, the company will continue its support in terms of preserving the productivity of nature and soil.
