Zorlu Enerji rises to leadership in Climate Change Program

Zorlu Enerji achieved an "A-" grade in CDP's Climate Change Program, elevating it to Leadership level at the world's largest environmental reporting platform. Zorlu Enerji received an "A-" grade in CDP's (Carbon Disclosure Project) 2023 Climate Change assessment, advancing to Leadership level. CDP aims to have companies measure and transparently share environmental data to reduce the effects of climate change and protect natural resources.

Zorlu Enerji has reported to CDP since its establishment in Turkey in 2010

Since CDP Turkey was established in 2010, Zorlu Enerji has regularly measured and reported data related to climate change. In 2011, the company was among the first to receive the Carbon Transparency Award under the CDP framework. Zorlu Enerji consistently ranks among the top performers in scores alongside group companies each year it reports to CDP. The company maintained its "B" score in the CDP Water Change Program while being evaluated at Management level. As the first company in the energy sector to report to CDP, Zorlu Enerji was placed on the Awareness list with a C score in the CDP Forests report, where only four companies from Turkey report. Zorlu Enerji's group companies (GAZDAŞ) and Osmangazi Elektrik Dağıtım AŞ (OEDAŞ) received B scores in the CDP Climate Change Program on which they report, being evaluated at Management level. To achieve its targets in nature management, the company identifies the impacts of its operations on the environment through a "Biodiversity and Ecosystem Management System." With sustainability for a sustainable planet and society as its top priority, Zorlu Enerji aims to increase the share of renewable energy in total production to 100% by 2030 and to become an institution with net-zero emissions in operations and energy production. The company plans to expand this target to cover its entire value chain by 2040 and to become a net-zero emissions institution by 2050, while also targeting TRY 10 million in minimum investment in biodiversity.
