Green Dot Industry Awards Applications Open The application process for the Green Dot Industry Awards, organized by ÇEVKO Foundation (Environment Protection and Packaging Waste Evaluation Foundation) and open to participation by national and global industrial organizations using the Green Dot brand in Turkey and contributing to sustainable living, will begin on 1 March 2022. The application period for this year's awards, being held for the 6th time, will continue until 17:00 on Friday, 27 May 2022. The application process has begun for the Green Dot Industry Awards, being held for the sixth time this year by ÇEVKO Foundation (Environment Protection and Packaging Waste Evaluation Foundation). The ÇEVKO Foundation Green Dot Industry Awards, open to the participation of companies holding Green Dot Brand Sub-License Agreements in Turkey, aim to encourage industrial organizations' contributions to environmental sustainability. Noting that ÇEVKO Foundation is the sole representative in Turkey of the Green Dot brand, which covers 540 million consumers in 31 countries, most of which are EU members, and that it ranks among the most successful implementations of the extended producer responsibility model, ÇEVKO Foundation General Secretary Mete İmer stated: "Green Dot symbolizes the responsible producer and the consumer's respect and appreciation for responsibility. In sustainable recovery work related to the environment, we aim to reward the exemplary work carried out by organizations meeting the established criteria at the highest rate beyond their legal responsibilities, while also encouraging and motivating all companies placing products on the market to undertake similar work." The Green Dot Awards, open to participation by all companies holding Green Dot Brand Sub-License Agreements, are organized in the categories of Waste Management Systems and Applications, Prevention Applications in Packaging, and Environmental Corporate Social Responsibility Applications. ÇEVKO Foundation Green Dot Industry Awards 2022 applications will be conducted between 1 March and 27 May 2022; awards will be given in 2 separate categories: Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Large-Scale Enterprises. ÇEVKO Foundation Green Dot Industry Awards applications are being accepted through the yesilnoktaodulleri.org website. Companies that have qualified to receive the Green Dot Industry Award in previous years are listed as follows: Abdi İbrahim, Akçansa, Anadolu Efes, Bayer, Boyner, Coca-Cola, Eczacıbaşı Girişim, Danone Hayat, Frito Lay, Hidropar, Korozo Ambalaj, Kurtsan İlaçları, Mey/Diageo, Mondi Tire Kutsan, Nestle Waters, PepsiCo Türkiye, Procter & Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser, Sarten Ambalaj, Şişecam, Tat Gıda, Tetra Pak, Tofaş, Unilever and Vestel Beyaz Eşya.

ÇEVKO Foundation: Sole Representative of the Green Dot Brand in Turkey

ÇEVKO Foundation holds the exclusive right to use the international "Green Dot" brand in Turkey under a contract concluded with PRO-Europe in 2003. Companies that wish to use this brand, which is widely established in Europe, and fulfill their legal responsibilities regarding recovery in our country, can use the "Green Dot" brand by entering into a sub-license agreement with ÇEVKO Foundation. Approximately 1,100 companies in Turkey use the Green Dot brand on the packaging of products they place on the market, demonstrating that they fulfill their obligations regarding packaging waste and provide financial contributions to the recycling system to consumers.

Consumers in Turkey Value Companies Using the Green Dot

The results of ÇEVKO Foundation's research on the "Green Dot" brand show that consumers in Turkey value companies using the Green Dot. The results of face-to-face interviews at sales points in Istanbul and research conducted via the internet nationwide show that 7 out of every 10 people recognize the "Green Dot" mark; and 1 out of every 3 people who recognize the "Green Dot" pays attention to purchasing products with the "Green Dot" in their shopping. The research demonstrates that the "Green Dot" brand adds significant value to companies.

Within the scope of the research, consumers defined companies using the "Green Dot" as:

• Companies that respect the environment,
• Companies with high sense of responsibility,
• Companies that support recycling.

The Green Dot Industry Awards aim to publicize the sustainable work related to the environment by members of the growing and strengthening Green Dot family in our country, as in the world. Rewarding the exemplary work carried out by organizations participating in the award process and meeting the established criteria at the highest rate beyond their legal responsibilities, and at the same time encouraging and motivating all companies placing products on the market to undertake similar work are also among the objectives of the awards.
