Packaging from Renewable Sources TotalEnergies and Intraplás celebrate their collaboration on the commercialization of drop-in packaging solutions derived from renewable sources using the TotalEnergies RE:clic range. TotalEnergies and Intraplás are collaborating to bring sustainable solutions to the packaging market without compromising performance and food safety. Intraplás is launching commercial products using TotalEnergies RE:newable polymers, which form part of the RE:clic portfolio derived from renewable sources, thereby achieving significant reduction in the carbon footprint of the final product. TotalEnergies' world-class bio-refinery located in La Mède (France) enables direct access to renewable raw materials for the RE:newable polymer range. The resulting polymer is certified under the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC PLUS) scheme using a mass balance approach. As a result, the RE:newable range exhibits virgin-like properties suitable for high-performance, demanding applications while significantly reducing carbon emissions. Intraplás' technical and commercial expertise has played a key role in bringing this innovation to the packaging market. With its processing facilities ISCC PLUS certified and thereby facilitating traceability from material production to end application, Intraplás is able to provide its customers seeking sustainable solutions in food packaging with high-performance, low-carbon, fossil-free products. At TotalEnergies, Vice President Polymers Europe & Orient Olivier Greiner stated, "Our RE:newable product range is essential to TotalEnergies reaching its target of 30% circular polymer production by 2030. As an integrated player in the market, our leading position enables TotalEnergies to offer customers low-carbon, drop-in polymers from renewable sources. This collaboration with our long-term partner Intraplás represents another important milestone. Innovation is becoming increasingly critical for companies to differentiate themselves in an increasingly competitive market." Marisa Alves, Head of Supply Chain at Intraplás, said, "If innovation is necessary to create value, the sustainability of an innovative product is the best foundation for responding to socio-environmental challenges. Our commitment is to bring more environmentally friendly packaging solutions to the market. We are increasingly investing in the inclusion of materials from renewable sources without compromising food safety, consumer welfare, and product performance. This collaboration with our partner TotalEnergies aligns with our objectives to reduce our carbon footprint, provide our customers and consumers with more sustainable packaging solutions, and contribute to a better world."
