Energy Transition for Sustainable Growth: Organik Kimya Launches Solar Power Plant Initiative
The path to a more sustainable future for Organik Kimya is being shaped by bold investments, environmental responsibility and long-term commitments. With the solar power plant (SPP) investment, whose foundations were laid in 2024 and completed in 2025, the company entered the new year by placing renewable energy at the center of its operations. This large-scale investment, realized in Turkey, enables Organik Kimya to power its production operations entirely with renewable energy while also making a significant contribution to the country's green energy transition.
A more sustainable future for organic chemicals is being shaped through bold investments, environmental responsibility and long-term commitments. With a solar power plant (SPP) investment whose foundations were laid in 2024 and completed in 2025, the company entered the new year by placing renewable energy at the centre of its operations. This large-scale investment implemented in Turkey enables Organik Kimya to power its production operations entirely with renewable energy, while also making a significant contribution to the country's green energy transition.
The implementation of the land-based SPP investment was decided following detailed evaluation processes of different alternatives. The land-based model, which offers higher capacity compared to rooftop applications, stood out due to its scale being able to meet all of Organik Kimya's production needs.
In the first phase of the project, a SPP with installed capacity of 11,196 kWp / 8,600 kWe was established on 125 decares of a total 194-decare plot (approximately 20 hectares) located in Keskin district of Kırıkkale province in Turkey. The facility, which came online in summer 2025, now produces approximately 19,000 MWh of clean electricity annually. This production corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 6,900 households or 22,000 people, with excess energy also being fed into the national grid.
Organik Kimya's relationship with renewable energy is not new. In 2017, the company took an important step in sustainable production by switching to fully certified renewable electricity at its Rotterdam facility. Today, this approach is being extended to a broader and longer-term framework through projects like the Keskin SPP investment.

The new SPP investment not only produces clean energy, but also:

-Provides customers with the opportunity to work with a producer that owns climate responsibility through concrete actions.
From being one of the first companies in Europe to adopt renewable electricity in 2017 to implementing one of Turkey's largest land-based solar energy investments today, this journey demonstrates that Organik Kimya continues to write its sustainability story with determination and action. This approach is strong evidence that industrial innovation and environmental responsibility can advance together.
