Watsons Turkey has released its third sustainability report covering environmental and social sustainability initiatives carried out under the Watsons Goodness Movement. In 2025, the company sourced all 20 million kWh of electricity used in its operations from I-REC certified renewable energy sources, while achieving a reduction in carbon emissions of approximately 33% over the past two years.
The report highlights measures to reduce environmental impact, social projects supporting women's economic participation, investments in employee development, and targets for expanding the sustainable product portfolio.
All energy from renewable sources
Operating more than 500 stores across 72 provinces in Turkey, Watsons Turkey continues its investments to reduce environmental impact by placing sustainability at the center of all operations.
In 2025, the company sourced all 20 million kWh of electricity it consumed from I-REC certified renewable energy sources. Through energy efficiency practices, the company achieved 963,745 kWh in annual energy savings, while reducing energy consumption per square meter despite operational growth.
Watsons Turkey deployed energy monitoring systems in 50 stores and timer-controlled outlet applications in 234 stores, reducing total carbon emissions by approximately 33% compared to 2023 through these initiatives.
500,000 saplings target exceeded
Under "Watsons Goodness Movement Calls to Grow Our Forests," one of the company's environmental sustainability projects, the number of saplings planted reached 500,000 by the end of 2025. Watsons Turkey continues its efforts toward the goal of planting 1 million saplings by 2030.
Supporting women's economic empowerment
Through a project conducted in collaboration with the Women's Labour Appreciation Foundation (KEDV), Watsons Turkey makes products manufactured by women's cooperatives available to consumers in its stores and online sales channels on a non-profit basis.
Since 2020, sales of 150,000 products have generated approximately TRY 11 million in economic value, while cooperative products currently sold in 198 stores have contributed to the economic empowerment of more than 1,000 women.
Women comprise 82% of the company's workforce, with the proportion of female managers reaching 71%. To support employee development, the company delivered a total of 43,538 hours of training throughout 2025.
2030 target: 3,000 sustainable products
Encouraging customers to make more sustainable choices, Watsons Turkey has made eco-friendly products more accessible through Sustainable Living Corners established in 161 stores.
The company aims to increase its sustainable product count from over 1,000 today to 3,000 by 2030.
