TotalEnergies Focuses on Net Zero Emissions TotalEnergies targets increasing its global renewable energy installed capacity from 17 gigawatts to 35 gigawatts by 2025. Supporting the European Union's carbon neutral objective, TotalEnergies commits to achieving net zero emissions by 2050. Under this framework, the company will source half of its energy production from renewables by 2050, 25 percent from low-carbon sources such as hydrogen, biogas and e-fuels, and the remaining 25 percent from oil and natural gas. In this way, the company will increase its global renewable energy installed capacity from 17 gigawatts to 35 gigawatts by 2025. Ahmet Hatipoğlu, Renewable Energy Manager for TotalEnergies Turkey, noted that the company is focusing on numerous areas to reach its Net Zero target. Hatipoğlu stated that as a company they are intensively working to make wind and solar energy investments particularly in Turkey, and continued as follows:
'Since our country's high potential and developed electricity market offer investment opportunities in different business models, we are open to various alternatives. In our country, renewable energy technologies are viewed not only as environmentally friendly, but as a profitable investment vehicle, an important element contributing to energy security, and as an industrial sector with existing equipment production infrastructure. We expect the share of renewable energy sources in production to increase further in the coming periods. Our priority is to implement investments that offer large-scale operations and more stable returns in the long term.' Highlighting that they possess significant knowledge and technological expertise in offshore platforms due to their offshore natural gas and oil exploration and production activities, Hatipoğlu said they would be able to make a difference in the offshore wind energy power plant to be implemented in Turkey with their existing experience.

Excellium Racing 100 takes its place in motor racing competitions

Meanwhile, TotalEnergies Lubricants continues to develop new products in cooperation with renewable energy producers. An important milestone in TotalEnergies' goal of reaching net zero emissions by 2050 was Excellium Racing 100, a 100 percent renewable fuel developed for motor racing competitions. Excellium Racing 100, which does not contain petroleum, provides at least a 65 percent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions over its lifetime of use. Source
