A Plastic-Free Step for Sustainable Living

Festival reducing plastic consumption for an environmentally friendly future aims to increase public awareness.
The Purest Solutions carries the objective of creating a more sustainable world by reducing plastic consumption. Addressing the plastic waste problem and offering an environmentally conscious event environment, TPS Academy launched the "Plastic Free Festival" event at Bilgi University Santral Campus Energy Museum in collaboration with Etki Çemberi Vakfı. This festival stands out as a step demonstrating that people can both enjoy themselves and display environmentally conscious behavior.
At the event, The Purest Solutions co-founder Hazal Evliyaoğlu, UNDP GEF SGP Turkey Director Gökmen Ergün, Etki Çemberi Vakfı founder Aylin Gezgüç and KAGİDER Board Member Dilara Koçak gave speeches sharing findings from current research on plastic use. Held for the third time this year, the Plastic Free Festival aims to draw attention to the destructive effects of plastic on nature, offer sustainable living solutions and increase public awareness.
Speaking at the festival, Evliyaoğlu emphasized that the main purpose of the event is to demonstrate that learning can also take place in a carbon-neutral way by reducing plastic consumption. She stated that they also aim to bring together brands that have contributed to sustainability and provide them with motivation to establish an environmentally friendly supply chain.
Dilara Koçak, meanwhile, drew attention to the dangers to human health by referring to the fact that each individual consumes 21 grams of microplastics per week. Koçak, emphasizing the importance of motivating people as health professionals, called for raising awareness on "consuming plastic, wearing plastic and using plastic."
Etki Çemberi Vakfı founder Aylin Gezgüç noted that breaking plastic addiction can be possible by freeing oneself from mental patterns. Gezgüç highlighted the importance of adapting to natural cycles to increase environmental awareness in society, pointing out that festivals are a powerful tool for raising awareness in this area.
This event aims to create environmental consciousness for every individual and institution wishing to reduce plastic consumption and contributes to an environmentally friendly future by offering alternative solutions that support sustainable living.
