Sustainability Initiatives from Saruhan Kimya

Saruhan Kimya ve Temizlik Ürünleri, one of Turkey's leading chemical companies, is taking significant steps on sustainability and sustainable production.

The chemical sector, while serving a broad industrial spectrum as an indispensable part of the global economy, also carries major environmental and social responsibilities. Sustainability has increasingly become a critical factor determining the competitive strength of companies operating in this sector. Both the sourcing of raw materials used in production processes and the management of resulting waste are closely monitored by environmentally conscious consumers and regulations.

Sustainable production encompasses efficient use of resources, minimization of emissions and waste harmful to the environment, and approaches that prioritize worker safety and social benefit. In this context, adoption of green chemistry practices, development of innovative processes that contribute to the circular economy, and investments in energy efficiency are among the keys to future success in the chemical sector.

Product Ingredients

Our nature and human-friendly Life by Fakir products stand out with their entirely plant-based content and vegan formulation. We have officially certified this with Ecomark and V-label vegan certificates. Our Life by Fakir brand includes green series and baby series products. Our products contain plant-derived active ingredients and do not contain GMOs, SLS, chlorine, parabens, or dyes in their composition.

Packaging

To reduce the environmental harm caused by packaging waste, we prioritize the use of recyclable and biodegradable materials. 

Production Stages

In the production of our concentrated products, we use approximately 75% less water compared to non-concentrated products. Thus, consumers who choose our products indirectly contribute to preventing drought, a challenge of our time.

Other Initiatives

At our production facilities, we continuously research innovative technologies in increasing energy efficiency as well as using renewable energy sources. We are conducting new product studies to reduce our carbon footprint. We have developed new initiatives focused on reducing microplastic emissions. With our entire team, we are engaged in thorough and continuous work on how we can do sustainability better and differently.
