Sustainable Filtration Solutions
Hifyber, operating under Abalıoğlu Holding, aims to protect human health through nanofiber filtration solutions made from biodegradable raw materials for use in air conditioning systems, industrial filtration and face masks, while also reducing the environmental impact of filtration solutions.
On the occasion of World Environment Day on 5 June, Hifyber General Manager Ahmet Özbecetek announced that the company targets reducing direct emissions across all its processes by 60% by 2030 as part of the transition to a low-carbon economy, and aims to raise public environmental awareness.
With the motto "Zero waste, green future," Hifyber aims to leave a sustainable life for future generations. The company develops "Nanofiber Filter Media" for use in air conditioning systems, industrial filtration and face masks, producing them from biodegradable raw materials in recognition of its environmental responsibility, with the goal of reducing the environmental impact of its products.
Hifyber General Manager Ahmet Özbecetek noted that urbanization and industrialization, which are accelerating in parallel with rapid world population growth, bring environmental problems in their wake. On the occasion of World Environment Day on 5 June, he shared the company's work to protect the environment and human health:
"We aim to raise environmental awareness"
"Due to the rapidly increasing effects of global climate change, environmental regulations are becoming increasingly important. As Hifyber, we conduct our work for a sustainable future by focusing on the environment, people and innovation. We design all our processes, from R&D to logistics, to minimize our environmental impact. In this context, we aim to reduce society's carbon emissions and raise environmental awareness.Biodegradable filter media
With our sense of environmental responsibility, we produce "Nanofiber Filter Media" developed for use in industrial filtration, air conditioning systems and face masks from biodegradable raw materials. With our fibre cloth that contains no glass fibre and features antibacterial-antiviral properties with nanofiber coating, we provide safe living spaces by removing microorganisms, dust and allergens present in ambient air. Thanks to the high air permeability provided by the nanofiber structure, we achieve 30% energy savings in fan motors used in industrial filtration and air conditioning systems. By enabling fan motors to operate with less energy, we also reduce carbon emissions," he said.Masks have become a waste problem
Noting that masks, which are a leading individual protective measure in combating the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, have become a serious waste problem worldwide following the pandemic, Ahmet Özbecetek continued: "With the pandemic, 90% of masks widely used globally are manufactured from long-lasting plastic materials. These masks, which are randomly discarded into the environment after use, persist in nature for 450 years, threatening nature, living creatures and human life.An environmentally friendly approach
As Hifyber, to prevent masks from posing an environmental threat, following approximately one year of R&D work, we have developed the "HF-BIO60 face mask filtration layer," adopting an environmentally friendly approach. Compliant with EN13432 standard and produced under controlled conditions, our biodegradable product together with high-technology nanofibres helps everyone who wishes to live in an environmentally friendly manner, reduce their individual carbon footprint and protect our planet, contributing to sustainable living. In this context, as part of the transition to a low-carbon economy, we target reducing direct emissions across all our processes by 60% by 2030," he said.Advertisement
