As a company that conducts all its activities with a sustainability focus, we pledged sapling donations following last year's fires to green forests and hope. We kept our promise and created a memorial forest on 400 hectares of land in Yatağan." Şişecam kept its promise by creating the Şişecam Memorial Forest on 400 hectares of land at Yatağan Çayboyu District, Gübbey Area. Şişecam Board Chairman and Member of the Board Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kırman said: "Protecting our planet, which is the primary home of us all, and placing sustainability at the center of all our activities is one of Şişecam's three core priorities. In line with this approach, we take initiative to protect our world and work relentlessly to implement environmental projects in every area we touch. Last year, we felt the sorrow in our hearts over the lives and habitats lost in the biggest forest fire Turkey has experienced to date, and we pledged sapling donations to our country. We are pleased to have fulfilled this promise by creating the Şişecam Memorial Forest at Yatağan Çayboyu District, Gübbey Area in Muğla Province."

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kırman stated that Şişecam has been conducting afforestation work in areas where it has had production facilities for many years and continued: "Within the boundaries of all Şişecam facilities, we allocate an area averaging 5 to 10 hectares for afforestation and carry out sapling planting to make the regions where we operate greener. In this context, through afforestation work we launched in 2000 in Muğla, Yatağan and Istanbul-Yalıköy regions, the forested areas we have created have reached 368 hectares. Throughout our country, from Mersin to Kırklareli, from Balıkesir to Yenişehir, we continue our afforestation work in every city where we conduct production activities and plant thousands of saplings each year. We hope that the forest we have created on 400 hectares in Yatağan will be a new living space for wildlife and a breath of life for future generations, and we aim to green hopes with the saplings we have planted," he said.
