Şişecam, a global player in the glass and chemicals sectors, has become a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact), the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative.
Viewing "Sustainable Future" as its greatest priority, Şişecam will continue to strengthen its sustainability efforts on a global scale by seizing opportunities to achieve gains in corporate sustainability indices.
By making sustainability the focal point of all its operations and a core element of its business model, Şişecam has become a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, the world's most comprehensive sustainability platform.
As a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, which encompasses principles on human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption, Şişecam has demonstrated its commitment to these issues on the international stage. In this direction, Şişecam will continue to strengthen its sustainability efforts on a global scale.
The Global Compact Agreement, which Şişecam has voluntarily adopted within the framework of its social responsibility awareness while planning and implementing all investment decisions, product and process development efforts with consideration for social and environmental impacts, consists of 10 principles established in the areas of human rights, working conditions, the environment and anti-corruption.
Approaching sustainability as an important responsibility rather than an obligation, Şişecam aims to align all its strategies and operations with these universal principles by adopting the platform's 10 principles.
Accelerating its efforts on integrated waste management, sustainability in the supply chain and resource management based on a circular economy approach, Şişecam continues to advance its 2030 sustainability strategy 'CareforNext', aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, along the lines of 'Protecting the Planet', 'Empowering Society' and 'Transforming Lives'.
