Şişecam Awarded Third Place

Şişecam has been awarded third place in the Environment category of the IMSAD Investment in the Future Awards competition for its 110 gram Ultra-Light Mineral Water Bottle, a product developed in line with its "CareforNext" strategy to create sustainable value and address the changing needs of the planet and society. Turkey's lightest mineral water bottle stands out for its special design, which makes it lighter and more environmentally friendly than comparable products. In this way, savings are achieved both in the energy and raw material consumed in production, and reductions are realized in carbon dioxide emissions related to production and transport. Through innovative glass packaging designs and product weight-reduction efforts, Şişecam aims to protect the planet by using less energy in production and transport and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, while transforming life by offering sustainable products to meet changing needs. Şişecam's ultra-light mineral water bottle, produced in accordance with this vision and distinguished by its environmentally friendly characteristics as Turkey's lightest mineral water bottle, has won the third place award in the Environment category of the IMSAD Investment in the Future Awards competition. With its special design, the environmentally friendly 110-gram ultra-light mineral water bottle is considerably lighter than comparable products. In the production process, a 19% reduction in carbon emissions is achieved compared to a standard 130-gram mineral water bottle. During product shipment, in addition to reduced costs due to fewer trucks being used, approximately 14% reduction in carbon emissions per kilometer is obtained. The mineral water bottles produced in flint and emerald green colors at Şişecam's Yenişehir Glass Packaging plant and launched for sale in Turkey are targeted to be introduced to the international market as of this year.
