Santa Farma Pharmaceutical General Headquarters Receives Zero Waste Certificate Following the acquisition of a Zero Waste Certificate by Santa Farma Pharmaceutical's factory located in GEBKİM Kocaeli, its General Headquarters building in Şişli has also obtained a Zero Waste Certificate from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. Santa Farma Pharmaceutical General Headquarters, which earned the right to receive the Zero Waste Certificate through its practices in waste management, prevention of waste, and efficient use of resources, has been conducting activities since 2020 aimed at strengthening environmental awareness, including recycling, source separation of waste, and raising awareness on zero waste. Santa Farma Pharmaceutical, with a total of 557 employees working at the General Headquarters and Factory, is focused not only on reducing the environmental impact of waste to zero, but also on extending this practice to employees' families and even all members of society. Santa Farma Pharmaceutical Vice Chairman Sami Kiresepi stated that Santa Farma conducts all business processes with the awareness of leaving a sustainable world for future generations, saying: "Over the past year, under the 'Zero Waste' banner at both our factory and General Headquarters building, we collected approximately 356 tons of waste, primarily paper, along with glass, plastic, metal, vegetable oil, mineral oil and organic waste. The collected waste consisted of 209.5 tons of paper, 11.5 tons of glass, 44.9 tons of plastic, 23.2 tons of metal, 3 tons of vegetable oil, 63.4 tons of organic waste and 20 kilograms of mineral oils. As a result of recycling the collected waste, 41.4 tons of greenhouse gas emissions were reduced, while 1,134,303 kilowatt hours of energy were saved. Additionally, through recycling, 3,562 trees were saved, and 44.1 kilograms of raw materials and approximately 733 barrels of petroleum were conserved. In order to protect ecological balance, we will continue to develop our efforts toward the efficient use of resources and collecting and recycling generated waste, in line with our responsibility to all living things and nature, and we will continue to raise awareness on this matter." he said.
