SANKO University Receives "Zero Waste Certificate"

SANKO University earned qualification for a "Zero Waste Certificate" from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change through its Zero Waste Management System, established on the basis of a healthy, clean, sustainable and secure environment. Following work carried out under the "Zero Waste Project" administered by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, SANKO University was awarded a Zero Waste Certificate and registered among the institutions that have received this certification.

Prof. Dr. Dağlı, noting that the foundation of the Zero Waste Management System aims to collect domestic or industrial non-hazardous waste and channel it to recycling, continued as follows:

"Within the scope of the Zero Waste Project, which is being emphasized today and where awareness and consciousness are being built, we have made every effort within our means and qualified to obtain the Zero Waste Certificate." Stating that paper, glass, metal, plastic and other waste are collected separately in different equipment in the university building, Prof. Dr. Dağlı said, "Our application for the Zero Waste Management System established with the installation of all equipment was found suitable as a result of on-site evaluations conducted by the Gaziantep Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, and we received our Basic Level Zero Waste Certificate. Following this process, the amounts of waste generated in our university are recorded on a monthly basis, enabling reports and monitoring. The generated waste is sent to licensed recovery and disposal facilities," he explained. "The future belongs to all of us, and each of us has a responsibility to protect it. I thank all our staff and students who contributed to obtaining the certificate and will support the continuation of this project," he concluded.
