Award for Rönesans Holding Rönesans Holding received the bronze award in the "Gender Equality and Economic Inclusion" category at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) 2022 Sustainability Awards. Rönesans Holding, which operates in construction, real estate, healthcare, energy and petrochemicals across 27 countries in a wide geography encompassing Turkey, Central Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, received recognition at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) 2022 Sustainability Awards with its Gender Equality Project. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Sustainability Awards were presented at the EBRD 2022 Annual Meeting held in Marrakech, Morocco. Among the awards given for best practices in various categories, the bronze award in the "Gender Equality and Economic Inclusion" category was presented to Rönesans Holding. EBRD, which participates in the financing of city hospitals and contributes to the development of Turkey's healthcare infrastructure, requires that projects it supports comply with environmental and social standards to ensure sustainability, and advocates for inclusive and egalitarian policies. Within this framework, one of the most important initiatives implemented by Rönesans Holding, which works in collaboration with EBRD, in the area of healthcare investments was the Gender Equality Project. The project, piloted at Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital, which Rönesans Holding operates in partnership with Japan's Sojitz, comprehensively strengthened Rönesans's human resources processes, policies and procedures, including contracted positions, and ensured the promotion of equal opportunities for women and men in the healthcare sector. One of the short-term outcomes of the project was that the kindergarten opened during the pandemic provided healthcare workers in at-risk positions with convenience, confidence, motivation, a sense of belonging and the opportunity to establish work-life balance.

We will continue with projects that benefit society

Expressing that they carefully evaluate the prestigious projects they have undertaken in terms of sustainability and social impact, Rönesans Holding Board Chair İpek Ilıcak Kayaalp stated: "One of the most important initiatives implemented by Rönesans Holding through EBRD collaboration was the Gender Equality Project. Within the scope of the project, we comprehensively strengthened Rönesans's human resources processes, policies and procedures, and ensured the promotion of equal opportunities for women and men in the healthcare sector. As a result of these efforts, we were deemed worthy of the "Gender Equality and Economic Inclusion" award at the EBRD 2022 Sustainability Awards. This meaningful award crowned our work. We will intensively continue our efforts to increase women's participation in the economy and raise awareness of gender equality in every region where Rönesans Holding operates, and will implement new projects." In addition to its work with EBRD, Rönesans Holding has been a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact since 2015, and to the principles and rules of the WEPs (Women's Empowerment Principles) platform since 2016.
