Pyrowave Introduces Nanopurification Technology
Pyrowave introduces nanopurification technology that removes contaminants from polymers with advanced control over purified resins at the molecular level.
With this technology, Pyrowave addresses the presence of contaminants in plastic waste and pyrolysis oil, a challenge faced by most plastic waste recyclers, particularly those engaged in advanced recycling.
Pyrowave's solution offers plastic waste preprocessing to purify resins suitable for use in contaminant-sensitive advanced recycling methods or directly in end applications. This breakthrough approach has the potential to expand the range of recyclable plastics, including those containing various contaminants and additives such as heavy metals, inorganic pigments, halogens and flame retardants.
Pyrowave's nanopurification method, inspired by purification techniques used in the pharmaceutical industry, leverages significant size differences between most additives and compounds found in polymers.
The technology is based on using the most advanced nanofiltration membranes to separate additives from polymers by exploiting major differences in size and solubility. Unlike traditional dissolution methods that rely solely on solubility, Pyrowave's patent-pending technology enables simultaneous removal of various contaminants while providing rigorous control over the endpoint. This results in a simpler, customizable, energy-efficient and cost-effective process that can be adapted to meet customers' specific requirements.
