Polisan's CDP Score Rises Polisan Holding raised its score to B under the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Climate Change Program and Water Security Program. Polisan's Climate Change and Water Security Program Score Rises to B

Polisan Holding, which participates in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) that encourages companies to set SMART targets and take action in addressing many global environmental problems, has succeeded in entering the global "B" list under CDP's Climate Change Program and Water Security Program. Mehmet Hacıkamiloğlu, CEO of a long-established group of Turkish companies operating in the paints, chemicals, port operations and real estate sectors, made statements on the matter and indicated that their target is the A list, one level above their current score. In his statement on the matter, Polisan Holding CEO Mehmet Hacıkamiloğlu said: "We are meticulously implementing sustainability policies and practices across all our business areas. We aim to become carbon neutral by meeting all our electricity energy needs in our operations with renewable energy. This year we expanded our work to include the supply chain and set absolute emission reduction targets for 2025."

Hacıkamiloğlu, noting that reducing industrial carbon emissions to the lowest possible level and managing resources, particularly energy, with policies that support nature and efficiency, is possible with strong corporate commitment, said: "Our approach, which places nature, people, health and the future before any possible cost and shapes our activities based on these priorities, will continue tomorrow as it did yesterday and today."

Targeting Carbon Neutrality

Hacıkamiloğlu noted that in combating climate change, they have reduced Scope I-II emission intensity by 49 percent over 9 years. Hacıkamiloğlu stated: "Alongside our chemical and paint factories, we aim to meet all our electricity energy needs through renewable energy in all our operations, including our port operations in the Kocaeli Gulf Region, and thus aim to become carbon neutral. This year we expanded our work to include the supply chain and set absolute emission reduction targets for 2025." Hacıkamiloğlu noted that Polisan Kansai Boya, their foreign business partnership with Kansai Paint, one of Japan's top ten paint manufacturers, introduced Turkey's first water-based mixing machine and supplies factory-quality paint at 3,500 locations, reducing the environmental footprint of their products throughout their lifecycle. In his statement, Hacıkamiloğlu also mentioned the Holding's subsidiaries operating in Turkey, Polisan Kimya and Poliport.

Research and Development Activities Continue on Water Resource Use Efficiency

Hacıkamiloğlu stated: "In all production areas, particularly at Polisan Kimya, we are implementing solutions to reduce water consumption and pollution and ensure recycling. Our research and development activities on water resource use efficiency continue. As one of the leading independent chemical storage terminals in the Kocaeli Gulf Region, Turkey's most important port area, we have implemented the port automation system AION at Poliport, which provides bulk liquid storage services, dry cargo and general cargo loading-unloading services and warehouse services. With AION, which will increase efficiency in resource use, we will take our sustainability policy one step further. AION was put into operation in our port area as of 2022."
