PepsiCo Türkiye Marks World Farmers' Day with Investment in the Future of Agriculture

On the occasion of World Farmers' Day, PepsiCo Türkiye continues to contribute to the sustainable agriculture transformation in Turkey through its contract farming model, regenerative agriculture projects and water efficiency investments. The company operates on a production area of 100,000 decares in more than 20 provinces.

PepsiCo Turkey continues to contribute to sustainable agriculture transformation in Turkey through contract farming models, regenerative agriculture projects and water efficiency investments as part of World Farmers Day. The company operates across production areas of more than 100,000 decares in over 20 cities.

PepsiCo Turkey, under its Pep+ strategy and "Positive Agriculture" approach, carries out work across a broad range of activities from contract production to training programmes, water recovery projects to regenerative agriculture practices.

Contract production on 100,000 decares
The company operates across approximately 100,000 decares nationwide, primarily in corn and potato production, while carrying out contract production with an average of 500 farmers annually.

With an agricultural team of approximately 200 people actively engaged in the field, PepsiCo Turkey continues its technology and training investments aimed at increasing farmer productivity.

"We are building a resilient agriculture ecosystem"
Ergün Günay made the following remarks in his assessment on the occasion of World Farmers Day:

"Agriculture is not merely production; it encompasses a holistic structure that includes strengthening farmers and establishing a sustainable ecosystem. With this understanding, we work together with our farmers to create a more productive and resilient agricultural infrastructure."

Günay noted that through PepsiCo Agro Academy, they have provided training support to farmers for approximately 20 years, focusing on optimising water and input use through advanced technologies.

Regenerative agriculture projects gaining momentum in the field
PepsiCo Turkey reached approximately 1,000 farmers through the "Lay's Regenerative Agriculture" project launched in Konya Karapınar. The project was subsequently moved to the earthquake region and continued in Hatay Samandağ under the name "Lay's Joint Action, Renewed Abundance".

Under this scope, farmers received seeds, saplings, fertiliser and training support, while purchase guarantees were provided to women's cooperatives, contributing to the revitalisation of regional production.

Through the "Women Feeding the World" project conducted in Adana in partnership with CARE Turkey, 450 farmers and producers received direct grants, while reaching more than 35,000 people in total.

1.14 million cubic metres of water returned to nature
PepsiCo Turkey continues its investments in water efficiency, achieving significant results under the "One Drop One World" project carried out in partnership with the Nature Conservation Centre.

In 2025, the company returned approximately 1.14 million cubic metres of water to nature in its operations in Tarsus, Manisa, İzmir and Adana.

Under this scope, operational water use was:

100% in Tarsus and İzmir
98% in Manisa
52% in Adana

returned to local river basins.

Digital agriculture: Fields monitored in real-time with Croptrak
PepsiCo Turkey's Croptrak mobile application, developed in-house, enables real-time monitoring of fields under contract production.

The system, which works integrated with meteorological data, identifies disease risks in advance, enabling farmers to intervene in a timely manner. In this way, both increased productivity and more effective use of water resources are targeted.
