Opella Launches New Sustainability Era with Health³ Strategy

Opella, which operates in the self-care sector, announced that it exceeded all of its sustainability targets set for 2025 and launched its new sustainability strategy, Health³.
Opella, a personal care company, announced that it has exceeded all sustainability targets set for 2025 and has launched its new sustainability strategy Health³.
Built on three core pillars—Healthy Planet, Healthy People, and Healthy Business—Health³ stands out as the company's most comprehensive sustainability programme to date. Through the new strategy, Opella aims to address environmental, social and corporate impacts in a holistic manner.
"Interconnected Challenges Require Collective Solutions"
Marissa Saretsky, Global Head of Sustainability at Opella, noted that global challenges such as climate change and social inequality feed into one another, and that the Health³ strategy is designed to produce holistic solutions to these problems.
Saretsky stated: "Health³ represents our commitment to jointly strengthen our impacts on the planet, people and business. Through this approach, we not only create value, but also increase our capacity to produce solutions to the fundamental challenges facing the world."
Feirouz Ellouze, General Manager of Opella Africa-Middle East-Turkey (AMET), said the company positions sustainability among its strategic priorities, noting that access to healthcare must be supported not only through products, but also through education and health literacy.
Net-Zero-Focused Approach in Climate Targets
Under the "Healthy Planet" pillar of the Health³ strategy, Opella treats climate change as a public health issue.
The company aims to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, while planning to reduce Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 58.8% by 2034. Opella's targets received approval from the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) in 2025.
Goal to Reach 50 Million People in Health Literacy
Opella views the development of health literacy as critical to the broader adoption of personal care.
In this context, the company aims to improve health literacy for 50 million people annually and provide training to 200,000 pharmacists by 2030.
Strengthening B Corp Leadership
Opella holds the distinction of being the first global consumer health company to hold B Corp certification. The company is preparing for re-certification in line with B Lab's new standards while seeking to advance its sustainability performance further.
Operating a portfolio of over 100 brands worldwide, Opella aims to contribute to making personal care more accessible, inclusive and sustainable.
All 2025 Targets Achieved
Opella achieved significant results in sustainability performance for 2025. The company:
Reduced Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 70% compared to 2019,
Transitioned to 100% renewable electricity in its operations,
Reached zero waste to landfill targets at all eligible manufacturing facilities,
Sourced all consumer-facing paper-based packaging from certified sources,
Reached 238 million people through health awareness and responsible medicine use initiatives in 2025.
With these results, Opella aims to take its new chapter in sustainability to the next level through the Health³ strategy.
