Cengiz Enerji, which accounts for 4% of Turkey's total installed capacity, released its first sustainability report. The company also shared with the public its three-phase transformation plan to be implemented by 2030.
Cengiz Enerji, one of Turkey's leading electricity producers, released its first comprehensive sustainability report. The report, covering the operations of power plants fully owned by Cengiz Enerji, contributes directly to 10 headings of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
With total installed capacity of 5,164 MW, the company accounts for approximately 4% of Turkey's total electricity generation capacity. The report includes the company's sustainability approach as well as its three-phase strategic transformation roadmap planned to be implemented by 2030.
"We are taking responsibility in energy transformation"
Cengiz Enerji CEO Ahmet Türkoğlu, noting that sustainability, innovation and resilience have become key success criteria for companies with the transformation in energy systems, stated:
"Creating value in the energy sector requires developing a comprehensive approach that strengthens reliable energy supply, invests in competitive technologies and makes climate responsibility an integral part of our business model. With every step we take, we aim to both contribute to the sector's transformation and create a more sustainable energy system for future generations.
While contributing to energy supply security in Turkey, we are increasing our geographic diversification through our international operations and managing a balanced generation portfolio capable of meeting different market needs. As of 2025, our total installed capacity in Turkey and abroad exceeds 5,600 MW. The fact that 61% of installed capacity in Turkey comes from renewable sources provides an important advantage supporting our low-carbon growth targets."

Sustainability is built on four key priorities
According to the report, Cengiz Enerji's sustainability strategy is shaped around four main headings:
-Climate and Energy Transformation,
-Environmental Protection,
-Employee Health and Safety,
-Creating Value for Community and Stakeholders
The company adopts a value creation model that takes environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria into account in all its activities, while aiming to contribute to the creation of more sustainable energy infrastructure.
Three-phase transformation plan until 2030
The roadmap announced by Cengiz Enerji will have its first phase completed by the end of 2026. During this period, the company will:
-strengthen sustainability governance structure,
-develop data management infrastructure,
-monitor environmental and social performance indicators, particularly greenhouse gas emissions, in a more systematic manner,
-complete preparations for CDP Climate Change and Water Security reporting.
In the second phase covering 2027-2028, the integration of climate risks into investment decisions will increase. While developing carbon trading practices with carbon certificates obtained from renewable energy investments, ESG risk assessment and audit procedures for suppliers will be initiated in line with a sustainable supply chain approach.
Net zero target will become more visible
In the final phase of the roadmap, 2029-2030, the company aims to detail its net zero transformation plan and share it with the public. In this context, advanced climate scenario analyses will be conducted and results will be integrated into long-term corporate strategies.
Upon completion of this transformation process, Cengiz Enerji aims to play a more active role in national and international sustainability initiatives and to be one of the pioneering actors in the energy sector's transformation.
Cengiz Enerji's 2025 Sustainability Report is available through the company's corporate channels.
