Kimpur Contributes to Circular Economy Kimpur, which produces polyurethane systems used in the footwear, automotive, furniture, insulation-construction and heating-cooling sectors, continues to support both nature and the circular economy by using sustainable resources in its production. Kimpur, which uses Graphene derived from the recycling of automotive tire waste in its production, has improved the performance of the KIMflex Sound Insulation System used for sound isolation in automotive applications and the KIMflex HR Foam Systems used in office and automotive seat manufacturing. Continuing its work that adds value to nature for a sustainable future, Kimpur announced that it has enhanced the performance of KIMflex systems with sustainable resources. Kimpur, which uses Graphene obtained from the recycling of automotive tire waste in its production to improve the performance of the KIMflex Sound Insulation System used for sound isolation in automotive applications and featuring high mechanical properties, and the KIMflex HR Foam Systems used in office and automotive seat manufacturing, has thus contributed to both nature and the circular economy.
Kimpur Research and Development Director Dr. Yener Rakıcıoğlu, stating that they use Graphene obtained from the recycling of automotive tire waste in their production and have thereby improved the performance of the KIMflex Sound Insulation System and KIMflex HR Foam Systems, made the following comments on the subject:
"Nowadays, lightweight vehicle design has become increasingly important in order to reduce fuel consumption of vehicles and provide energy savings. As Kimpur, we have been producing polyurethane systems for the automotive sector for many years, and with the lightweight characteristic of these systems, we aim to reduce vehicle weight and achieve lower energy consumption and reduced emissions. To improve the performance of these products, we incorporated Graphene, which has been defined as the wonder material of recent years, into our production. Graphene-based polyurethane foams increase sound insulation performance while having virtually no impact on the total weight of the vehicle thanks to their lightweight characteristic. As a result of our studies, we found that the Graphene-based sound insulation system we developed achieved a 65% improvement in sound absorption compared to standard systems. Additionally, in the production of HR Foam Systems used in automotive and office seat manufacturing, we used Graphene, a carbon-based recycled material derived from automotive tires, and successfully improved the mechanical properties of our systems without requiring additional materials, while preventing material waste and reducing carbon dioxide emissions from our production." Kimpur will continue its work aimed at using resources most efficiently through recycling, reintroducing waste generated as a result of the production process back into the economy, and preventing environmental problems.
