They Will Build a Park That Generates Its Own Electricity

Building a Park That Generates Its Own Electricity Nilüfer Municipality will provide the 23 April Neighborhood with a "next-generation" park. The park, to be built on a 6,000-square-meter area, will feature devices that generate electricity through jumping and pedaling, as well as seating areas equipped with solar panels. The electricity generated from the park will be used for the park's own lighting.   The agreement was signed for the park that Nilüfer Municipality will provide to the 23 April Neighborhood in cooperation with Hitachi Astemo Türkiye Otomotiv A.Ş. Hitachi Astemo Türkiye Otomotiv A.Ş. General Manager Murat Bayram, Human Resources and Communications Manager Elif Akça and Corporate Communications Manager Hilal Kalenderoğlu met with Nilüfer Municipality Mayor Turgay Erdem in his office at the Community Center to sign the cooperation protocol. Also present at the meeting were Nilüfer Municipality Deputy Mayor Remzi Çınar and Parks and Gardens Manager Sema Tokgöz. General Manager Murat Bayram expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation, recalling that his company had previously collaborated with Nilüfer Municipality. Nilüfer Municipality Mayor Turgay Erdem, who expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation, said: "It is encouraging that the company shares this awareness. I thank you for this collaboration." Mayor Erdem stated that they will implement the park project in a short timeframe and put it into service for citizens, emphasizing that the park will be an educational and awareness-raising area in line with the Climate Year vision. At the conclusion of the meeting, Nilüfer Municipality Mayor Turgay Erdem and Hitachi Astemo Türkiye Otomotiv A.Ş. General Manager Murat Bayram signed the protocol for the exemplary park. Planned on a 5,878-square-meter area in the 23 April Neighborhood, the park will generate its own electricity through both solar energy and visitor participation. The park will feature devices that allow children to contribute to electricity generation and generate electricity through jumping, solar panel-equipped wind turbines, solar panel-equipped pavilions, and bicycles that generate electricity through pedaling. Green areas will comprise 3,552 square meters of the park. The electricity generated from the park will be used for the park's own lighting.
