The Climate and Human Summit will take place on 20 March
The "Climate and Humanity Summit," which addresses climate change and humanity's interaction with these changes, will take place on Wednesday, 20 March at the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) Assembly Hall. The summit will be opened by Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki.
Climate change preparations for the eagerly awaited Climate and Humanity Summit, where leaders, experts and activists come together to confront the threats that climate change poses to humanity and the planet, are proceeding at full speed. Focusing on addressing humanity's impact on the planet and climate change, and seeking solutions, the "Climate and Humanity Summit" aims to accelerate solutions by encouraging discussions on this critical issue.
At the summit, where ATO Chairman Gürsel Baran and DEMSA Board Chairman Demet Sabancı Çetindoğan will also be speakers, alongside Ministry officials, public and private sector representatives, civil society organization leaders and activists will share their knowledge and experience and seek solutions to global challenges.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TÜSİAV), the Turkey Vegan and Healthy Living Tourism Association (TEVSAD) and the For Life Association, this important event is being organized to emphasize Turkey's commitment in fighting global climate change and to increase public awareness.
The summit, which will bring together nearly 500 participants, will include among participants students from Hacettepe, Middle East Technical, Ankara, Bilkent, Medipol and Başkent Universities, as well as groups such as METU Vegan, Hacettepe Vegan, Hacettepe Sustainable Development Community, Ankara Animal Save and UNIVEG Turkey.

TEVSAD Chairman Şule Dayangaç Atalan, providing information about the summit, stated: "As we move toward critical thresholds for our planet, we need to take urgent action to make our food systems sustainable. These actions, while preserving the balance of our planet, will enable fundamental steps to be taken for a healthy and secure future. The promotion of sustainable agricultural practices, protection of water and soil resources, support for biodiversity and adoption of climate-friendly agricultural methods are among the important steps that need to be implemented immediately. Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of today's world, and this change leads to marked effects on land, water and air elements, fundamentally transforming our lives and our planet. Climate change poses a serious threat that creates significant impacts on human health globally. Factors such as rising temperatures, extreme weather events, air pollution and declining water resources significantly affect health systems and societies. For this reason, it is important to combat climate change and seek solutions aimed at reducing health risks.
