"EIB Sustainability Days" Organized Against Climate Change
Recent climate change experienced globally in recent years has led humanity to concentrate more intensively on sustainable, green production. Leaving a healthy, habitable world for future generations has risen to the top of the world's agenda.
Aiming for USD 15 billion in exports in 2021 through green production, Aegean Exporters Associations is organizing "EİB Sustainability Days". The training program, which will begin online on 12 January 2021, will be free of charge and open to participation by all exporting companies. Reminding that they declared 2020 as "Sustainability Year", Aegean Exporters Associations Coordinator Chairman Jak Eskinazi noted that they implemented numerous projects related to sustainability during 2020, that they were the first exporter associations in Turkey to be members of the United Nations Global Compact and holders of "Zero Waste Certificate", and that sustainability efforts will remain among priority issues in 2021 and beyond. Eskinazi, providing information that they aim to increase exporting companies' sustainability competencies during "EİB Sustainability Days", stated: "The European Union, which carries out 50 percent of Turkey's exports, aims to make the European continent carbon neutral by 2050. To this end, it is implementing a series of policies. These developments are removing sustainable production models from being an option, making it a necessity. Measures such as carbon tax and zero waste tax in trade are on the agenda, which will increase costs for exporters. For this reason, we aim for our exporting companies to produce in accordance with the European Green Deal. To increase the sustainability competencies of our more than 8,000 exporting companies that are members of Aegean Exporters Associations, we have organized "EİB Sustainability Days". As we stated in our published sustainability manifesto, we will continue our work with the slogan 'Sustainable production and sustainable exports for a sustainable world'." The training topics at "EİB Sustainability Days", organized in cooperation with Brika Sustainability, Sustainability Academy and Kadir Has University are: "Sustainability Concept and Private Sector Analysis, SDGs-Sustainable Development Goals and Harmonization, Circular Economy, Sustainable Finance, Good Governance Practices, Energy Efficiency, Energy Agenda within the Scope of Climate Change, Greenhouse Gas Emission Reporting and European Green Deal." Expert speakers on these subjects will increase Aegean exporters' sustainability competencies in the online environment. The training program, which will begin on 12 January 2021, will end in mid-March. Within the scope of the program that will start on 12 January and continue until March, separate announcements will be made for each training topic. The first training under the program, "Sustainability Concept and Private Sector Analysis Training", will be held in two parts on 12 and 14 January between 14:00 - 16:00 and registration for the training can be made through the link below. https://kampus.eib.org.tr/surdurulebilirlik-kavrami-ve-ozel-sektor-analizi/Advertisement
