Starting from the beginning of 2020, the Extended Producer Responsibility Fee (GEKAP) implementation has imposed numerous obligations on companies. Before it was fully understood what these obligations entailed and how the process would work, objections were raised against the 2 March 2020 deadline for submitting Extended Producer Responsibility Fee Declarations. News came that the Tax Administration has granted additional time for this matter. The deadline for submitting Extended Producer Responsibility Fee Declarations, which must be sent electronically, has been extended until 30 March 2020, Monday. PAGEV Chairman Yavuz Eroğlu stated, "The extension of the deadline for GEKAP Declarations is a very correct decision in terms of informing the business world during this period and evaluating the matter more thoroughly." PAGEV Board Chairman Yavuz Eroğlu said the following, noting that they will carry out efforts to inform industrialists affected by GEKAP: "The Extended Producer Responsibility Fee (GEKAP) implementation concerns many industrialists closely. Especially the extension of time to determine which products of companies are subject to GEKAP, who are GEKAP taxpayers, the procedures for the declaration, exceptions and particularly to assess the impact of the resulting costs on certain sectors and from the consumer perspective is a very correct decision for evaluating the matter more thoroughly during this period. We will continue to work with both the Ministry and the industrialists in the affected sectors to make good use of this time and carry out necessary information provision and possible revisions."

ISO and PAGEV to hold GEKAP seminar on Monday, 2 March

At the seminar, where Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Chairman Şekib Avdagiç and Turkish Plastics Industrialists Research, Development and Education Foundation (PAGEV) Board Chairman Yavuz Eroğlu will give opening remarks, companies will have the opportunity to learn details related to GEKAP from experts in the field.
