Recycled Polymers and Materials Circular Polymers by Ascend, a recycler of post-consumer carpet, announced the launch of Cerene™, a line of recycled polymers and materials produced from the company's proprietary carpet recovery technology. Nylon 6, nylon 6,6, polypropylene, PET and calcium carbonate can be recovered through the company's specialized carpet recycling process. Circular Polymers by Ascend, a leading recycler processing waste from consumer goods, announced the launch of Cerene™, recycled polymers and materials derived from the company's proprietary carpet recovery technology. Cerene is offered as a consistent and sustainable feedstock for various applications, including molding and compounding, in the form of polyamide 6 and 66, PET, polypropylene and calcium carbonate. Ascend Performance Materials, a fully integrated producer of durable high-performance materials, is recognized for its innovations in the nylon 6,6 sector. Cerene continues this legacy in nylon 6,6 while also bringing recycled polymers such as nylon 6, PET and PP to market. The company uses a specialized process at its California facility to achieve unique efficiency in recycling and give new life to nearly every component of carpet. Since 2018, the company has diverted 85 million pounds (approximately 38.5 million kg) of carpet from landfills for transformation into new products. Ascend has a sustainability strategy built on three core pillars: empowering communities, innovating in solutions and operating without compromise. The company recently announced two new initiatives aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of its products.
