"As Gebze Municipality, we are committed to zero waste initiatives"
Gebze Municipality Mayor Zinnur Büyükgöz, commenting on the Zero Waste Forest to be established using resources generated from electronic waste recycling collected in the district, stated: "Today we are gathered here to raise awareness for the Zero Waste Forest we will establish in our Gebze. We have launched work to convert the electronic waste we collect in our district into trees and forest. With your support and that of our valued fellow citizens, we will transform a 30-hectare area in Kadıllı into a Zero Waste Forest, God willing. Using resources generated from the recycling of collected waste, we will establish this forest as soon as possible. I thank all institutions, organizations and stakeholders who support our work in making Gebze a zero waste city. As Gebze Municipality, we are committed to zero waste initiatives. We are one of 30 municipalities in Turkey with a zero waste certificate," he said. Following the speeches, the delegation toured the exhibition made from the waste.Advertisement
