"We are in the same position as global players in the sector"
GCA General Director Dr. Abdullah Gayret, noting that they have enriched the glass experience they have developed over approximately 30 years with the glass packaging sector, made the following statements on the subject: "We are making efforts to advance the point we have reached in terms of knowledge and experience through R&D projects. Our facilities have the latest technologies that global players operating in the United States, Europe and Turkey possess. These characteristics have greatly contributed to our position as one of the sector's leading players. As GCA, in 2023 we aim to strengthen our position in the sector by implementing our digitalization projects covering all our processes, from customer portal to shipping appointment software project.""We showed growth above the market"
Noting that the first half of 2022 was a period of strong domestic and international market demand, Dr. Abdullah Gayret continued: "In 2022, compared to the previous year, the Turkish glass packaging market grew in single digits in terms of units. As one of the leading players in this market, despite the second half of the year being challenging, we achieved approximately 20 percent growth above the market as targeted. In 2023, we aim to record double-digit growth again.""Our goal is to increase the share of exports in our revenue"
"In 2023, the 100th anniversary of our Republic, we want to represent our country even better in global markets. As GCA, we continue to grow and constantly keep ourselves up to date to ensure that our processes remain at the highest technology level worldwide. Approximately 30 percent of our revenue comes from exports. In line with our vision of selling glass packaging produced in Turkey to the world, we aim to increase the number of countries to which we export from 40 to 50 in the coming period. This way, we will also increase the share of exports in our total business.""Our domestic market share will grow further"
Pointing out that they have doubled their market share in the Turkish glass packaging market in terms of capacity with recent investments, Gayret stated, "Technology development efforts will continue to set GCA apart from its competitors. In this context, in 2023 we will continue to work on developing and implementing smart production technologies within our own facilities that combine image processing systems supported by artificial intelligence algorithms and advanced automation software. In the furnace overhaul planned for the beginning of 2024, as GCA we will have increased our total capacity by over 10 percent. In this way, we will continue to advance with confident steps on the path to becoming one of the sector's leaders by further increasing our domestic market share" he concluded.Advertisement
