Clariant in Dow Jones Sustainability Index

Clariant, a focused, sustainable and innovative specialty chemicals company, announced its inclusion in the 2021 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) with strong overall sustainability performance and leading innovation and water management scores. This marks the ninth consecutive year that Clariant has been ranked among the most sustainable companies in the global chemicals sector. Clariant was recognized among the leading companies in both the DJSI Europe and DJSI World sector indices.

Clariant CEO Conrad Keijzer stated: "Sustainability and innovation are strategic growth factors for Clariant, and we are strongly focused on continuously directing our operations and product portfolio toward increased sustainability. I am proud that Clariant has been listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for nine consecutive years with a particularly strong score in innovation. Clariant is strongly focused on continuously directing its environmental performance toward increased sustainability and establishing new environmental criteria for its operations. Earlier this year, Clariant announced its commitment to ambitious new 2030 sustainability targets, which include science-based climate targets that position the company firmly on the path to climate neutrality by 2050 at the latest.

Since 2015, Clariant has consistently performed well in the innovation section of the DJSI assessment and achieved the highest possible score again this year. This reflects the company's progress in strengthening the connections between innovation, sustainability and digitalization, the intensive focus of the organization's research and development function, and numerous partnerships with industry to deliver high-quality innovation results.
