Borusan Lojistik Receives Green Logistics Certificate
Borusan Lojistik has qualified to receive the Green Logistics Certificate, awarded by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure under the UAB – Combined Transport Regulation, given for the first time this year.
Borusan Lojistik, a company of the Borusan Group that carries out comprehensive work under Borusan's sustainability focus areas of climate, people and innovation, has qualified to receive the Green Logistics Certificate awarded by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
Under the Green Logistics Certificate scope, Borusan Lojistik's intermodal transport in compliance with criteria established within the company, carbon emission reduction and afforestation activities, Management System Certificates (ISO 14001 Environment, ISO 50001 Energy, ISO 14046 Water Footprint, ISO 14064 Carbon Footprint), renewable energy usage rate and annual minimum 5 percent green packaging activities were inspected.
With its sustainable and innovative steps, Borusan Lojistik, which is also leading the digital transformation of Turkey's logistics sector, will be able to benefit from incentives, exemptions, exceptions and facilities through the Green Logistics Certificate.
Borusan Lojistik General Manager Serdar Erçal commented on the matter as follows: "As Borusan Lojistik, we have been carrying out sustainability projects since 2011. In order to eliminate the damage caused to the environment due to fossil energy consumption used in all our activities, we have taken important steps in our sustainability journey with the slogan 'We Really Went for Green'. In 2021, we became the first logistics company to sign the SKD (Sustainable Development Association) Business Plastic Initiative.
