Support Provided for Quality Education to Thousands of Children

Qualified Education Support Provided to Thousands of Children Through the 'Donate E-Waste Project' launched in 2016 in cooperation between Turkey Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV) and Information Technology Industry Association (TÜBİSAD), qualified education support has been provided to more than 4,300 children to date. In addition to contributing to children's education, the project serves as an important environmental activity for nature conservation, transforming e-waste into education, and giving TEGV children hope for the future. Turkey Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV), which has provided qualified education support to more than 3 million children since 1995, works through the 'Donate E-Waste Project' to address an important problem while supporting children. Globally, 83% of e-waste, which causes serious environmental pollution, is discarded without being recycled. TEGV, to reduce this environmental pollution and to ensure that children receive qualified education support through the economic value obtained from e-waste recycling, partnered with the Information Technology Industry Association (TÜBİSAD), which was assigned as an Authorized Organization by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, and launched the 'Donate E-Waste Project' in 2016.

Contributing to both a livable world and education

Under the project scope, unused e-waste from homes, schools and workplaces can be donated to TEGV. TEGV converts all types of e-waste into education through recycling, contributing to a livable world while also engaging donors in the vision of a community strengthened through education. E-waste donated under the project is sent free of charge to partnered recycling facilities via PTT using the code 902 513 042, and the revenue obtained supports children with limited means.

Education support provided to more than 4,300 children

In 2022, 53,859 kg of waste was collected under the project scope, and with these donations, qualified education support was provided to 400 children. More than 130 institutions supported the 'Donate E-Waste Project'. Since the project's launch in 2016 to date, 385,554 kg of e-waste has been collected, and with the revenue generated from this, qualified education support has been provided to more than 4,300 children. From 2016 to 2022, approximately 400 institutions supported the 'Donate E-Waste Project' by donating their electronic waste.
